it could be the heat- which causes you to retain water and increases circulation...or high sodium intake, it could also be a side effect of a med you are on or from standing on your feet too long. There's a lot of factors to consider...be sure you are drinking plenty of water (this even helps with water retension - oddly enough), you can try elevating your feet above your heart for 20-30 minutes at a time or even taking a warm bath - both of which should help the swelling go down. If it persists for more than a few days, or becomes worse in any way, contact your doctor.

Ok - First and foremost are you on any new medicines at all? I took a medicine that made me gain 30 pounds in 30 days and I never even noticed it until my feet swelled up. It freaked me out. Also, are you sure you aren't pregnant? Those are the only two reasons I could possibly think of darlin.... I would suggest a visit to the doctor. It could just be that you are retaining fluid and you need a fluid pill. But be warned, they make you weak and generally tired so be careful if your doctor prescibes one for you. Good Luck dear.....

It could be edima. Check out http://www.usmedicalresearch.org/Edema/index.html?ucroi_kw=edema&ucroi_adid=13721

Or, some womens' feet swell when they get pregnant.

Another possibility is a thyroid imbalance in which case you need a blood test.

It is likely best you see your doctor. Best of luck!

I know it sounds funny but I heard about this thing called RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). It is a shot in the dark, but may be worth Googling.

the doctor told me that my heart wasn't beating fast enough. That was why my feet were swollen. Exercise every day. Especially a long walk a day.

It sounds almost like either
A. Gout
B. Reactive Arthritis

I'd go in to a joint specialist and have them run some basic tests.
I don't know how old you are... but .. get this checked out.

You are retaining too much water.
Eating too much salt.
Drinking too much pop/cola.

Drink MORE water & elevate you feet above your heart!!!
