We experienced some power outages this past Tuesday due to high temp 102 degrees F. Everything is ancient in NYC and alot of wires melted. A subway was stranded on a train trestle when the tracks buckled and popped up under the HOT sun and temp.
The next day,,,a 10-car subway train was stucked in the tunnel between stations due to power outage in that area. LaGuardia and JFK airports lost power too. Also, approximately 100,000 people lost electricity in Queens (a suburb/borough of NYC). Today marks the 7th day without power. They are very angry, upset, crying, having to throw away 10 tons of spoiled food, can't sleep...city agencies distributing water, ice and food to them.
I live in Manhattan, and thank god most of NYC didn't experience power outage. Lights are on, a/c is on, t.v. is on, etc.
Blackouts can be fun for young, healthy people, but only for a day or 2 at the most. If you are old and sick, it's hell.

I read on AP news earlier today that parts of Queens has been without power for 6 days! Can you imagine no air conditioning in heat like this? Of course it may not be 109 in NY, lol.

Yeah, New Yorkers havent had a light bulb on in years. Thats why they voted in Hillary as senator, even though she's not even a real New Yorker. A bunch of einsteins, New Yorkers are.
