I don't know but the most successful cake biz on line is Very Vera. I know businesses that order cakes exclusively from Very Vera for every party/event/gift they are involved in. I order from them on birthdays. Their cakes are expensive, but customers are willing to pay because the presentation, service, and quality is impeccable.

My point is, check out their site. That's going to be your best source of info since they are already VERY well off.

Marketing is important. You'll need your own website and a lot of pictures. I would suggest hiring a photographer to take these. Get pics of everything you sell and have them on the site.

My cousin used to sell cookies on line and she had a product called the "sampler." Which was a $5 box of tiny cookies representing the large ones available. They also came with brochures with pictures and coupons. She only sold in her county, but she was pretty successful.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
