Isn't it nice how people just guess and don't back up what they say? The record for runs scored by a team in a season is held by the Boston Beaneaters (now the Braves) in 1894 with 1220. The American League record was set by the Yankees in 1931 with 1067.

Any baseball question about perfect, wins, or tradition always has to be answered with America's team: the New York Yankees.


However this is inly an educated guess. I would think it would be in 1961 the year of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle's great home run record season.

I believe it was the 1999 Indians who scored 1009 runs.
