"In god we trust" can be twisted in any way you like. Even though there is nominally seperation of church and state, the god bit is usually considered to be the Christian god. For better or for worse, the more vocal Christian organizations tend to be some of the least accepting and least tolerant people involved in politics, which eventually filters through the government and comes out as supporting the more violent aspects of foreign policy.
The other thing is that "In god we trust" can also be taken to mean that if god didn't want the nation to bother others, then god wouldn't have allowed us to get into this position in the first place. It's a stupid argument, and it implies that if anything sounds good, then this god we're trusting approves of it.
The bottom line is that even if the politicians pay any attention (I doubt it), "In god we trust" doesn't mean "be nice to everyone."

We trust God yes but He is not a puppet master and we not puppets .We trust God to guide us and we pray to Him for assurance, protection and wisdom and the make decisions and follow a course of action based on that. If all we had to do was to trust God and not required to make decisions, follow actions and so on then there'd be no free will and we wouldn't be free men, would we. If we as a democracy allow other countries do as they wish esp when it comes to developing nuclear weapons then I guarantee the existence would not be peaceful for long.

If they wouldn't declare Jihad on us maybe we could. Blame the USA for responding to attacks. When another nation ignores and defies countless U.N. resolutions you also find fault with the USA. When will you ever blame those at fault? My guess is that you never will. That's OK though because in this country you have that right. It is your right to be so wrong about the USA in defending those countries that attack us hate us and want to destroy us.

Because as much as we like to think that, really we are just in it for the money. And oil means money, hence why we won't live peacefully.

it is not all. The "gods" talk of themselves, and to a minimum of one yet another in plural form in lots of places in the Bible. Quoting from the e book No Meek Messiah with the aid of M. Paulkovich: Genesis 3:5, "and ye would be as gods." Genesis 11:7, "enable us to bypass down, and there confound their language..." Exodus 15:11, "... O Lord, between the gods..." Exodus 18:11, "the Lord is larger than all gods..." Deuteronomy 10:17, "For the Lord your God is God of gods," et cetera. The previous testomony is for that reason a poly-monotheist mixture...

Because the people who believe you can just repeat "In God we trust" over and over again without actually believing it trust their power and money more than God.
