Actors and politicians are both weird types of people, in that they like people talking about them all the time, they like to see their name in the paper every day, and tend to be rather egotistical and arrogant. I'm really not making a judgement, I'm just saying that there are certain personality characteristics that would lead someone to go into acting, and these same things often lead other people to go into politics. So, when those actors become slightly politically aware, they're drawn to politics as well. I'm sure they believe they can change things, make better government, etc., but there are many ways to improve government and policy without running for office.

And also, this is generally an easier option for them than for the regular guy because they have a lot of disposible time and income, and they already have name/face recognition, which is something that a newcomer political candidate absolutely needs to win office. Or, at least, in candidate-centered single-member district systems. Name recognition is much less important in proportional representation systems, which may explain why many of the cases of actors running for office occur in countries with SMD systems, like the US.

the main impression on human beings like it or no longer is the actor and how plenty they placed into promotions. the reason i be conscious of that's as a results of how plenty video clips make and how plenty actors make. in case you look at revenues, the celebrity actors and celebrity video clips many times draw the main crowds and function an enhanced possibility of influencing human beings. i be conscious of that maximum folk desire to assert the plot and the message yet interior the tip a great plot without massive call actors won't convey sufficient human beings in to sell the multi million money.

Actors in politics: try these reasons:

--They're washed up
--They believe in public service
--They believe they can do some good
--They want to add to vanity
--They want to be more important
--They have plenty of money
--They want to impress someone
--They have an agenda to forward
--What's better than acting?

One or all, take your pick.

casue they're human. and have opinions and thoughts about things other than regarding just movies and hollywood life.

and plus it gets us regular ppl to take notice about politics more and actually listen. but i hate how some of them think they have some authority or credibility. i mean, they are just ppl like us. what makes them so much more knowledgable? playing a politician on screen doesn't give them those credentials. and sometimes it seems like they are doing it to get publicity.

hope not but its very likely. and plus they have lots of money to spend. why not on something worth while? and you get tax breaks giving to charity but most don't just donate but try and raise awareness and get bills passed.

Familiar faces and lots of money. That and they seem to think they are long on smarts...

The ones who should run, don't. They're too smart and know better.

The ones who do run, shouldn't and end up in office.

That's entertainment for you!
