Capstar is usually used to get rid of the fleas that are on the animal. Once they are gone then begin a monthly flea preventative from your vet. Ask your vet which one they reccomend(there are a lot out there)

Absolutley not. Capstar is deisgned to be given a maximum of three times a week, or every third day. However, capstar has no residual effects, such as a topical like Frontline or Advantage-designed to prevent flease for a month. So, to control fleas, use capstar to initially erradicate them, but you must use a flea topical for safe, longterm prevention. Capstar should be used only until you can get fleas under control, or like I said, to jumpstart the process of your topical monthly flea control products.

Yes, it DOES work wonderfully, but would be too expensive to use as the pets regular flea control. Use Advantage or Frontline monthly. Stay away from Hartz and Biospot...we see a lot of sick pets from these products. They are NOT the same as advantage or frontline.
