Yes, but only if your belief is followed up with action.

I dont really agree with this, and I'm glad you used the word probably.... If you believe in yourself the chances are higher that you will succeed, but not guaranteed. Take job interviews as an example, you could have several people apply for the same job with the same knowledge and experience, so its down to who comes across as the more capable etc and the one who has confidence and belief in themselves will project that image and succeed.
If I want to win the lotto and believe I can, I'm mad.

I do, but in a less specific sense. I believe that always, "what you want" is just a communication of a longing for satisfaction. And even if you don't get the specific thing you think you need to make you feel satisfied, at some point something will come along and satisfy you.

An alcoholic sees a bottle of beer locked away in a jail cell for some reason he cant get in?
The doors are locked maybe for a reason...yet maybe if he thinks long and hard enough how to get that bottle of beer he Will.
Should he have that bottle of beer, and will he get that bottle of bear those are the questions.
I think it all depends on what the future brings. There is no way of clearly dignifying what u can reach and what you cant!

Yep, Whether you think you can, or you think you cant, you are right!
Positive mental attitudes will do more for you than you could possibly imagine!
How far have you tried to extend that thought?, because it almost certainly goes much further than you ever imagined possible.
