Hi there, I know everyone is asking what's going on about this world wide shutdown of Yahoo IM. But I'm afraid I made a big mistake. I only heard about this an hour ago, until then I thought there was a problem with my PC. So I decided to update my Yahoo Messenger to that new 8.0 version. The only problem I realize now is that with my other Yahoo, I saved every conversation that I had with my friends overseas. Some of those conversations are very dear to me and now I'm afraid that they may have been erased completely :( They date back all the way to February, some very important records in that too. Does anybody think that because I updated my YM that now I lost all those saved conversations ?? I can't check and see ofcourse cuzz nobody can go in IM. Plss what do you think ??

I did the very same thing, thinking it was my computer. Luckily, I had saved them in another location on my computer. Hopefully, you didn't lose them.

Every time I have upgraded Yahoo Messenger, my archived messages, have remained stored locally on my computer.
I think you will be fine.

Well those messages should be saved to your computer. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.
