I have a myspace account but my mom dosn't want me to have one because she says that there are sexual predators and i know that but my profile is set to Private and no one can see it only my freinds and those are the pepole that i talk to and i show her my freinds list and and my profile so why is she freaking out?

Because there are always ways sexual predators get around age ristriction and private profiles, so parents are constantly concerned about their childrens welfare on those sites. Explain to your mom that you understand safe internet surfing habits and that you are careful online. Tell her that you understand the dangers of talking to people you don't know and giving them personal information and thats why your myspace is private.

There are predators everywhere, on street corners, in parks, at malls... tat least with Myspace, they won't actually do any harm unless you're silly enough to interact with them and give out information that you shouldn't give out.

Because she doesn't understand it as much as you do. And you don't understand her point as she has more experience in the world. Just be careful, and listen to your mom, educate her as she educates you.
