I am reading Pudd'nhead Wilson, by Mark Twain. It's good so far. I think it's the book that brought the idea of using fingerprints to identify people to the American public. I'm also reading Musashi, by Eiji Yoshikawa. I just finished book four, it was really good. Full of sword fights, danger and intrigue. Musashi is a real book written in the early 1900s about a real guy who lived in the late 1500s and early 1600s. It's not a manga, though Vagabond, the manga, is based on Musashi and many anime characters are ripped off directly out of this book.

Weirdness. I was just looking for my copy of that book yesterday. It isn't where it is supposed to be. Did I lend it to you?
I am re-reading Moby Dick right now. I have been on a re-read kick of late, and I can't remember the last book I read that was a new read. I would say it's been at least a month since I read something with which I was not already well acquainted.
When I hear people talking about tragic romances, I don't think "Romeo and Juliet"; I automatically think of Nancy and Sid. Nancy's story is sad, twisted, and also beautiful, in a way, I think. I try to re-read it every few years.

This summer I have read :
An anthology of Horror Short stories, various authors
Faerie Wars-Herbie Brennan
A Wrinkle In Time-Madeline L'Engle
Jonathan Strange and Mr.Norell-Susanna Clark
and am currently reading :
The Historian -Elizabeth Kostva
all fantasy/horror novels although Jonathan Strange reads as pure English Lit. a la Austen. All books, if you are a fan of the genre, are brilliant.
I'm a bit of a bibliophile, so a large portion of my summer is spent reading. In fact soon I will be off the computer and in front of a book.

over the past 6 months, I've been going back to read some of the classics that I didn't read when I was younger.
Moby Dick,
20,000 leagues under the sea,
i'm about to start brave new world
but in between all of these i read
god bless you Dr kevorkian by kurt vonnegut
a man without a country also by vonnegut
a girl becomes a coma like that by lisa glatt
.... a great story about someone just trying to keep her head above water.
I also ordered a book by Kate Braverman. She is one of my favorite authors. I doubt this book will be among her greats, but i try to read everything she writes

I just finished a Sci Fi novel. Magic Men by W. Korol Selley. There's no abracadabra magic in it. The magic is of the mind. It was different.
I've started reading the Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. It's a book on physics. It's about string theory.

I have finished two books this weekend, one is Jumping the Scratch by Sarah Weeks. It is in my opinion an amazing novel. I loved her book So B. It which came out in 2004, and her latest book was anything but disappointing. The second is Time's Memory by Julius Lester. I loved Day of Tears which Lester published last year, and this book would have been absolutely perfect...if it had ended five pages sooner.

Cell by Stephen King. Was very disappointed! Once the man went sober his books have paid the price not what they use to be.Starting with Buick 8. I am happy He went sober for His own good but, Mourn the could of been.
