Ok futher questions (Zer). She is about 3 years old. We do hold her quite often and talk to her all the time. So i do not think she is lonely. But the Vet is closed and I really do not want to have another pet die on my son. Our last "rodent" (dwarf hamster) had so many tumors that she had to be put down. She is the sweetest thing. But Buttons also just started to bit me as I went into her cage to do anything. Plus I do not know if she could have hurt her self by getting out of the cage. It is up on a night stand. I'm just glad I had not left for work. She could have been away from her water all day. Not like she is drinking anyway. :(

She is not eating or drinking sitting in the corner of her cage and at times jumping at the door trying to get out. She got out yesterday and tried to bit me when I put her back. HELP I do not want her to die!!!

Could be several things. Does she feel "skinny"? If so, she might have something bad thats been creeping up on her for awhile. If she was eating fine yesterday, but not today, then maybe its not as serious. She needs to have her teeth checked. The molars can actually grow over and trap the tongue, and this is difficult to see unless the vet can scope her mouth. Also, it is critical that G.P.'s have a supplemental source of Vitamin C every day. I use the orange flavored liquid made for kids. About 25 mg daily. They learn to love taking it from a syringe or dropper. They can develop a lot of health problems just from not enough C in the diet. If she fell out of her cage, she may have injured herself or even fractured a leg. Keep her quiet and try to get her to an emergency vet in your area if this is the case.

Did she fall from the nightstand? Like I said in the other anser check her teeth. Also if it was a fall she could have broken something.

We built a little summer cottage for our Pig so he can go in the yard - it's just a long A-frame covered in chicken wire w/a hidey space at the end. He gets to go out, enjoy the sun and still be protected. Maybe a bit of outdoor time will cure your Pigs escape routines.

make sure that the teeth aren't too long and that she can drink and eat easily make sure that she has has enough calcium in her diet and enough hay and alfalfa. if she hasn't give her some and it might help her to eat something. sometimes when pigs stomachs get upset and unless you calm it down they dont like to eat anything, usually hay and alfalfa Can calm the stomachs down. about the jumping thing i am not sure what to tell you. make sure that the cage is closed so that she cant get hurt if she tries to jump out.
