I don't mean to be unfriendly, but having been victimized by people in the form of e-cards (a common tactic used by many internet trolls) and send you hateful messages, I am quite weary of receiving e-cards from someone I don't know.
You may mean well, but unless we have established a real rapport, I prefer not to recieve anymore e-cards. Please don't take it personally, but it is a matter of once burned twice shy.
Also, I'm old enough to be your mother, btw.

Sure, sometimes. Email cards can be funny and a nice indication that whoever it was that sent it thought about you long enough to pick one out :).

Only non family members is acceptable. I would be mad If my mom sent me an ecard birthday wish! too impersonal

Yes it is pretty cool I send them to friends while they are traveling in foreign countries...as mail would never catch up with them...and phone calls can be spotty...
