I believe they are Red-Eared turtles, and live in water and land. The bigger one has a red ear while the smaller one has a orange ear.

I have three red ear'd sliders and its easyest to tell when they become sexualy mature, The bigger ones are usualy female. Females also have shorter tails. Males have VERY long claws on the front feet and tend to be small overall. I have two males and a female and the female is double the males and they are all the same age.

If the bottom of the shell is flat then it is a girl - but boy turtles have a slightly concave bottom shell - which makes it a bit easier for the boy turtle to climb on top of the girl turtle so they can hmm you know - reproduce.

Put an Xbox in their pen. The one who plays with it is the boy turtle. this works with any species.
