Doctors say it is a virus which will go away in time. My mom had it a few years prior and hers went away on its own.

Maybe it is a nose problem? Has he seen an ear/nose/throat doctor?

The sense of smell is connected to one of the body's cranial nerves, so if this nerve is damaged, I would question why. First, there are some prescription drugs that can do this, but if he not taking them, even if he is not having other symptoms, he should consider seeing a doctor to make sure he does not have some sort of growth that may have damaged the nerve. Taste is not much without smell, so this is likely why he is losing weight, however, the two symptoms together could be something more serious, so he really should see a doctor.

you do no longer grant a source for Clinton "blaming Rush Limbaugh" for McVeigh's movements. it somewhat is a daft assumption to make. provide us the direct quote and the context of this style of quote. I by no skill lked Clinton yet I hate those pseudo-accusations without components. Did Clinton usually mean and straight away say that talk radio in his opinion stirred up the fringes of society? sure he did yet that's no longer "blame" for a kinfolk terrorist action... and the former president does have the final to specific a opinion... and that's all that replaced into. while you're threatened via an opinion then perhaps you're able to stay away from politics.

losing the sense of smell or taste is often one of the first signs of dementia or altzheimer's disease. losing a sense of taste does not make a person lose weight. are you saying he is eating less because he cant taste food?
rapid weight loss is also associated with adult onset diabetes type 2, and also hodgkin's lymphoma, as well as hyperthyroidism: a proper physical exam by his regular doctor or a specialist sounds like it would be prudent.
