Actually, pre-school has been shown to increase a child's ability to learn, to help them to socialize better and to stop bed wetting. Okay, I made the last one up.

But in this day and age, "natural development" can be a disaster. Do you suggest that parents send their kids into the woods to be raised to wolves? Didn't think so. Pre-school gives a child a leg up in the academic world, a world he will be bound to for at least 12 years. Every edge he can get is a bonus. His "natural development" whatever that is, will take care of itself.
