A Miami Vice movie is nothing without Will Smith. Has he sung a song? Done a cameo?
The Will Smith factor will play an important role in determining this movie's success.

Just because he sings a song about Miami doesn't mean he should be in Miami Vice. Plus he was in Bad Boys 1 and 2 which
took place in Miami. If he had done the movie, the role would be
too similar to his role in Bad Boys.

Why exactly is it that Will Smith should be doing Miami Vice? He already has been in his own remake of the concept (You know these movies as Bad Boys 1& 2). The success of this movie has nothing to do with any particular actor being involved or not. It's going to be fairly successful (that is why, even with all our moaning, Hollywood keeps cranking out these remakes of older movies and tv shows) How successful it will be depends on whether it turns out to be a good story...

For this year at least Jamie Fox is the black man of honor. Next year maybe Denzel or Samuel will make a come back and the year after that Will and Wesley can fight it out. Who know maybe Morgan Freeman and Larry Fishbourne will get a shot. However Hollywood can only have one top black female and male actor a year.... and you already know this

Well Will Smith had nothing to do with the TV show. I could slightly see him playing Tubbs but I don't think he would be serious enough doing it.
