What is so difficult to understand here?
Myspace is a computerized database. Something has gone wrong with it, and it's not working tonight.
The company that owns Myspace, News Corporation, is one of the largest media organizations in the entire world. They own lots of newspapers, especially in the UK and Australia, they own some of the biggest movie studios (20th Century Fox), they own DirecTV, they own the Fox network, including Fox News, FX, Turner South, and lots more - they publish magazines, they own the Harper Collins publishing house.
MySpace is a huge profit generator for News Corp.
It's not working right now. I'm sure they're desperately trying to fix whatever is wrong with it. It may be a virus, it may have been a deliberate attack of vandalism, it may have been an error that occurred when they were transferring data from one server to another, who knows?
Take a deep breath. Pick up the phone. Call one of the friends that you usually chat with on MySpace. Try to remember the good old days when you actually SPOKE to people. MySpace will be back - whether it's tonight or tomorrow - it'll be back soon. Life will go on!

Anyone else find it odd that Myspace and Yahoo Messenger are down at the same time?
Maybe someone is planning an attack on the internet and these 2 big sites are the test attacks.
What do you think?
I heard there is a virus out there, and this is all a cover up!

Are you kidding me? How old are you ? 15? Myspace will never shut down. If for some reason that is not working it could be because of power outages where their server is or the server is just too busy.

Whoever, this Tom dude is, he is lying through his teeth saying it is caused by a power failure.
MySpace was hacked this week and just a visit to MySpace caused hundreds of thousands of peoples computers to become infected with malware.
They are no doubt down right now, trying to patch their servers.

And I have a Myspace, and yes, I like it. But it wouldn't be the end of the world if it did.

no. it was just hacked into just like yahoo IM was today. dont believe to rumors. tom always posts on the pages hes not shutting it down
