A few ideas:

1) Flyers & Business Cards - Who are your customers & where do they shop (e.g. grocery, home improvement stores, etc)? Post flyers where your customers frequent.

2) Advertise Locally -- Newspapers, Craigslist, Yahoo! Local

3) Word of Mouth -- Offer a great service & people will talk.

4) Mailers -- Send out coupons, specials, etc.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Ask local businesses (dry cleaners, drug stores, office depot, etc.) if you can post your flyer. You can also place a flyer on the house doors. Ask friends to also advertise for you too. You can also advertise on classified2000.com (or something like that). Apartment complexes are easy to circulate flyers.

For offices/businesses, you can make an appointment or just drop by and see who does their cleaning. Good luck. This is a very lucrative business that takes only small amount of capital to start.

Try Yahoo Small Business. You can get a website set up quickly and effectively at about $12.00 per month.

First, register a website name, then use that name in the application for Yahoo. Next, just download a template website using Yahoo Sitebuilder.

Focus small first, prove your success, then move your way up to businesses. Good luck!

Businesses.

Get out there and hustle. Push for meetings and get face time with apartment superintendents and the like. I became so busy I didnt know what to do.

In the end I got screwed on a construction clean up, (never work without a contract on big jobs) and I own a business I like much better.

If you go out and seek out the business, you'll get it.

Good luck.

I'm guessing floating business cards in public toilets wouldn't help?

Make up your own flyers. It's relatively cheap.
