Whether that's a problem would depend on several other factors that you don't mention...have you had other signs of puberty, like (if you're a girl) menstruation and/or breast development...or (if you're a guy) deepening of the voice and growth of the genitals? If you've experienced these things and have had a growth spurt, it's likely just a "glitch" in your hormonal system or possibly an adrenal problem. If you don't have other signs of puberty, that could be more serious. In either case, I'd certainly contact your doctor about this...(s)he would be able to administer the proper tests to determine the origins of this problem and how to best remedy it.

You didn't mention if you are male or female OR whether or not you have underarm hair. People have varying amounts of pubic hair, even at 17, BUT, if you are female, have absolutely no pubic hair and no periods, then see a doctor right away, as this is a sign of a complicated chromosomal problem. If you are blonde and/or lightskinned, little pubic hair is more likely.

Everyone develops at their own pace. If you've had regular physicals and theres no other problem, just be patient. The way everyone shaves everything these days, consider yourself lucky.
