Maybe I'm missing something, but everywhere I look online, I'll see a crazy picture (like of Cookie Monster flipping the bird or of a baby with an awful look on it's face) & across the picture, it says "OWNED"....I've missed something somewhere, cuz I NO clue what this means. Could someone please explain this to me? (Only serious answer please...only answer if you really know what I'm talking about & really know what it means) Thanx.

the term owned is used in multiplayer gaming. you are "owned" when you are defeated in a humiliating fashion (i.e. beating someone in football by 30+ points). Also the word pwned is used which has the same context.

it`s basically meaning you`ve been defeated, but now it has come into a point of being idiotic and over used because people want to fit in and feel important.

Owned must be the latest in our racist-laden culture that goes out of its way to call women bitches and hoes. It means, "I own you."
As in, you are my slave, I am your master.
Let us thank hip-hop and black rap music for the profound fundamental shift in our society. It used to be nice to live here. Now, everyone seems to think they can "own" or be masters of other people. She my hoe. I own dat *****. Just disgusting.
