All serious, well-intentioned answers add to the mix; and the the breadth of knowledge "out there."

We all feel pretty good about a "Best Answer," as it validates something somewhere within us. (And lets us know we've helped the asker).

I've answered 129 questions and received 10 "best answers." (Not quite 10%). I had thought this was about OK until I received a sweet note from a girl and I naturally checked her profile and her "best answers" were a stunning 57% of her total (and she had given a LOT of answers!--I should say a lot of good, thoughtful answers...).

Anyway, thought I'd throw the question out there....

I don't know.... I think it depends on the person. I know that I am not a regular yahoo answers user, but I still have 11% or so best answers. I think I would hold someone who logs on every singe day with a high percentage in the same esteem with someone who is an infrequent user with a percentage above 10%. Then again, there is no way to tell how much someone logs on as far as I know.

Really good question....I'll be pondering this one for a while!

Well, I've been hanging out here for 6 months and today I finally made an account here. I'll have 103 points when I answer this and my percentage of best answers will be 0. Pathetic, ha?
I think that your percentage is just fine, most people here don't even have that much. That girl is just a special case...

Well, I hope I helped you. I'm off to gain a few more points... :D

I have 15%, and I'm happy with that. I don't have multiple profiles, don't have any friends who do this, and I don't vote for my own answers. I'm not sure how someone could get 57% without at least one of the above, but maybe they are just way smarter than I.

It's all got to do with how many you answer. The more you answer the % change.....I have answered over 5000 and my % change when I answer a question..
