Is there really a power of three?

Question

Okay DO NOT bother telling me anything about going to hell or that you don`t believe this stuff because you`ll be wasting both my time and yours. Is there really any prophicy or anything like that that would suggest there is really a power of three or "Charmed Ones"? If so tell me everything you know about them and I mean EVERYTHING!! If you know any ancestors that would be good too.

The power of three does exist. Any time that you can harness energy and have others around you that can harness energy as well...you are able to pick up on things between each other. The power of three even exist in prayer...The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Well the best way to explain what you may see on Charmed is.....
Right Idea, Wrong Delivery..! the show Charmed places a sort of fantasy spin on Magick and Witchcraft, after all it is meant for entertainment. i am a practicing Wiccan Priest, trained and Inititated into a Coven. The Power of Three as exists in Charmed sybolises the need for three people or entities to become one driving force meaning you need others to pool a collective power. In traditional Wiccan practice without divulging Oath Bound Material there is an idea or Power of Three but in a different context and is reffered to as the Laws of Three, or The Threefold Law which basically explains Karma in a nut shell. whatever you send forth good or evil returns to you threefold....Threefold Bad Threefold Good. That is why it is important to keep words and thoughts in good order, the thought becomes the act if you put too much power into somthing it WILL come to pass.
I don't know the real reason you are asking this question, if maybe you are just a fan of the show and curious, or if you are in this time being drawn to The Olde Ways or the Path of Wicca. But as a general rule when you watch shows like Buffy, Charmed, The Craft, Practical Magic, take what you see with a grain of salt and use common sense I have been a Witch for almost ten years and i have never vanquished a demon, other then my own demons which bound me to my lower nature.

The #3 is a sacred number to most pagans. The Christians did not come up with the idea of a Trinity first. It can stand for the three phase of the moon the new, full, waning. It also stands for the three ages of the goddess, maiden, mother and crone. also stands for the manta, one power, the god that receive the power and the goddess that gives the power where it is needed. 6, and 12 are important to. 9 being 3 3s is the most powerful. No there is one charmed ones that can destroy demons with a wave of their hands or saying a few words. To have power is hard work and no one as it given to them just because of a blood lineage

The Power of 3....Hmmm...its more like 3*3*3. It is not a family thing. Its more of a spiritual thing. The power of three is when you call on The God and the Goddess in their 3 forms. Goddess is Maiden, Mother and Crone. The God is Youth, Father and Sage. Christians have the same concept. Father, Son, Holy Ghost or Spirit ( which I believe is to be the Female Counter Part of God...sometimes known as Shekinah). But, to your question...no...no prophecy or anything like that of the TV show.

There isn't really a power of three like the ones from Charmed, only the Holy Trinity. As a matter of fact, the symbol that they have on their book in the show is really a Irish Celtic symbol for the holy trinity. Look up holy trinity symbols on the Internet and you will see it. I actually have a necklace that has the symbol on it and always get weird looks and comments when I where it.

the Kabalah says that for creating a thing you need three powers and there are three persons in grammar, first , second and third, in communication you nees the emiter, the message and the receiver, Pytagoras worked on discovering the mysteries of the universe thru the study of triangles.

Well, aside from the obvious 'Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost' and the CHARMED series and the obnoxious threesome porn joke which I won't relate here, the number three is a powerful mojo coming from the dawn of time. I mean, a stool doesn't stand on two legs but three. I think it has something to do with balance.

Three is a sacred no. to most religions because it represents the Trinities in religion..

ex:

CHRISTIANITY: (I'm a Roman Catholic okk?)
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit (TRIUNE GOD)
Joseph, Mary, Jesus (the Holy Family)
Elijah, Jesus, Moses (those who appeared in the heavens during the Transfiguration, just read the Gospel of Mark)
the Beast, the Dragon and the Prostitute (those who will be thrown into a lake of fire in Revelation)

HINDUISM:
Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva (three principal gods)

Anytime more people work toward a common goal it will be more powerful but if your referring to charmed I think the original way was actually the power of 4 North, South,East,West or earth, air ,water, and fire they just mad it 3 for the show because that's all the actresses they had.

To the best of my knowledge, that was just the premise for the tv show. The only powers of three I know of is the threefold law (whatever you do returns to you threefold), and the divine trinities(Father, Son, Holy Ghost and Maiden, Mother, Crone)
