My Dell Dimension 3000 desktop running Win XP SP2 refuses to recognize my 1 GB USB drive. What may I do?

Another identical desktop on the same network has no such problem.

i had a pc with the same problem i think, plug in the usb drive then right click on the "my computer" icon and click properties. usually thats all i needed to do then the pc would start to see the usb drive.

1st check to make sure the usb drive is on and working. also try your drive in another slot.
