So, if an emo person stops being hurt and becomes happy, do they become a prep? Do they need to buy a whole new wardrobe?
Do preps have to support George Bush? When I was a teenager, preppies where supporters of Ronald Regan, and were supposed to pretend to be from old money. You're right, I hate that fashion. All those stupid, ugly clothes should be burned in a huge bonfire.

i'm a 33 year old mom and until this post had no idea what an "emo" was. i think i understand, probably need a little more explanation. it's natural to be emotional as a teenager, hormones are no ******* fun. it's important tho, not to let your feelings overwhelm you to the point that your emotional state rules your life. we create our own reality, the lives we choose to live are what we make them. there are always people worse off than us, and sometimes in our pain we need to remember that. emotional swings in high school are normal, healthy and at times...warranted. just remember there is happiness in the little things; the sun making diamonds on the water of a lake, laughing hysterically with friend, soft wind on your back. when i get really emotional and i feel like things are crashing in on me, these are things i think about.

I understand where you're coming from. I dress all preppy and I enjoy hanging with the emo kids in school more than the preps because a lot of them are more fun and don't really care about what "label" i am.
A lot of people just don't get it. But with the attitude of like emos rule and preps suck. If you're anti prep and don't like all of them then how do you expect them to like you?

Life hurts sometimes, but that's no reason to make that pain who you are. Nobody likes a complainer, especially one who makes it their identity to complain and be mopy.
I think the deal is that emos are brave enough to acknowledge that pain, though it does seem that they kind of also glorify it.
People don't like the idea that an emos pain is the same, yet somehow much "deeper" than the pain that anyone else feels.

I agree with you. Ok i know not a lot of emos really cut themselves. ok but thats just how people label emos. like i think some of the emos that cut themselves give other emos a bad name. you know...i know some people who do cut themselves but i don't agree with it but it is their lives. they can do what they want. also i like emo music. and i like painting my nails black. and i don't like labels but sometimes people can't help but to label. also there are preps that aren't nice. the ones who won't give you the time of the day you know? but thats labeling them in one group. by saying they all suck. i know some and most do but i have met some that don't. so if you hate them labeling then why are you? although like i said sometimes we as people cant help but to label. its naturl i think. i don't know what else to say soooo i hope what i did say answered a little bit. i don't hate emos at all...also just ignore the people who do. you can't change them into loving emos and they can't change you to stop being emo. we can only change and control ourselves. emo people are still people. so in a way we are all the same.
