I love his directorial styles as well as his acting...he's a great writer too....WHO AGREES THAT THIS GUY ROCKS!!!!♥

He is a good director and I really like him but to say that his acting is good is a little too much, I mean he is ok, but only in the comedy parts I just cant see him playing a serious role because he simply cant.
Still like him as a director but Jersey girl??? Horrible, Dogma the first 45 min. is great but after that... besides that loved all his movies. Except Chansing Amy, I feel it had the same problem as Dogma (but not as bad) after the first half it just drags too much.

He is the most overrated director/writer in the last 10 years. Go back and watch how bad Clerks is. And if he knew then that he would ever make a movie like Jersey Girl, he would have blown his brains out. He's a one trick pony. Jay and Silent Bob strike back was a complete turd.

OKAY firstly to the dude talking about how stupid clerks was .. yeah its in black and white whatever but did you realize the way they talked to each other, so intelligently. youre a square, and your dumb. kevin smith is almost a genious, his movies always find a way to make me laugh, with the exception of jersey girl, that one did kinda bomb, but like, dogma, thats some goood s to the h to the i to the t man.

Yup, his movies are hillarious, but I've heard he's actually a real AS#hole.
Still want to see the new Clerks 2 movie though...

I don't think he's that great. I think Dogma was his best film to date. I do know how to make Kevin Smith angry though...compare likenesses in his work to that of Tim Burton's. He hates that dude.

I think he's cool. I only wish he didn't go back to his CLERKS characters so much. The man needs to grow as an artist.
