In the movie Citizen Kane staring Orsen Wells as Charles Foster Kane, I would have changed something that would have allowed writers to have a field day, with a sequel.

In the movie, Charles Foster Kane had a wife and son that had been killed from an automobile accident. I would have had the wife killed and the son, Charles, Jr. go into the military. As the story line continues I would have had Orsen Wells (Kane) been told that his son is Missing In Action.

At the end of the film, when everything is being burned, I would have had the camera focused on someone walking toward Xanadu, Kane's magnificent residence. The camera would gradually work its way up, slowly, very slowly toward a younger man carrying a briefcase.

When the final piece of apparatus is either burned or destroyed and the camera focuses in on the sled, I would have had a doorbell ring.

Cut to-exterior...Two cops are standing at the entrance of the huge mansion and as the cops open the gates, I would have had one of the cops inquire at the figure standing before them..."I'm sorry, but, this place has been shut down and everything has been burned?"

"Shut down, burned...!"

"Yes, it's all gone. Nothing but ashes... Who are you, soldier?"

"I am Private First Class, Charles Foster Kane, Jr."

End...Fade to black...

The last Matrix movie.

In the first movie, Agent Smith tells Morpheus, "The human race is a virus." In the third movie, when Neo is jacked into the Matrix for the final fight with all the Smiths, I would write the ending so not only does Neo defeat Smith, but also infects the Master Computer with his "viral" essence. The computer weakens and slowly self destructs, but not before Neo forces it to wake all the captives up. Millions die, being unprepared for the collapse of the Matrix and the world is plunged into the technological equivalent of 1700s, but the surviving remnants of humanity live once again as free people.

Yes to Matrix, Seven and Basic Instinct, but the one I saw latest was, believe it or not, Bambi II. How would I rewrite the ending? I'd give it one, for sure. And does Arnold really have to die in Terminator 2? Why can't he be re-programmed?

I'd probably change the ending of The Grapes of Wrath to one more true to the end of the book, at least in spirit. Otherwise, I might take the raining frogs out of Magnolia, since the over-the-top symbolism kills what is otherwise an effectively realistic film.

Basic Instinct: give the film a clear, savvy answer to who really was the killer....and save the efforts in making Basic Instinct 2.
