I think it will be exciting as the world cup will move to a new continent. The World Cup has witnessed to some beautiful games produced by African nations such as Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast. It will be a huge boost for African football now that the World Cup is coming to their homaland. It will also be a test for the exisiting super powers such as Brasil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Engalnd, Holland as they have never played a World Cup game there b4. It will be interesting to see how these countries perform on African soil.I am looking forward to it.

Zane M : you are daydreaming if you think US team will dominate the World Cup 2010 or for that matter, any World Cup.

I am, of course, looking forward to the next world cup, but I am particularly looking forward to this one because it will be in Africa. That should be...well...very, very interesting. I am expecting it to be a lot like South Korea/Japan, with some big surprises in the quarterfinals (Senegal, Turkey, South Korea, and United States in 02) while a lot of favorites end up sitting out (France, Argentina, Italy in 02). Yet in 02, despite the surprises, the final two werent really big surprises, in fact historically, they were the most expected, as both of them (Germany and Brazil) lead the way in World Cup Finals Final Match Appearances. The main differences, of course, from then are that: 1) with 8 years, the more unknowen teams (Senegal, Togo, South Korea, etc) have had more time to catch up on the big names (Brazil, Germany, Italy, France, etc), 2) it isnt being cohosted, and 3) its in Africa, which while also being a new place is very different from Asia. Expect the African teams to have a HUGE advantage. While the Asian teams had a huge advantage in 02, the African teams are generally better than the Asian teams, so the advantage should really be more notable this time. I would expect at least three African teams in the quarters and one in the semis. I wouldnt be surprised if Europe was without a team in the semifinals. I would be surprised if South America was without one. Hopefully the tournament will have some more scoring than this year and a higher quality of play as parts of this tournament were really poor. Anyway, I cant wait.

It is about time Africa were chosen to host - there was some descrepancy over Germany winning the bid for 2006 over S. Africa; something to do with the representative of the New Zealand FA going against instructions of his organisation and voting for Germany - had he not done so speculation is that votes given to England's bid would have gone to S. Africa, and they would have secured the 2006 cup. So all-in-all they deserved to win hosting 2010 - and it will be great for the development of the game in the whole of Africa (as it was when in their respective countries when USA and Japan/S. Korea hosted the event). African fans are great fun too - very vocal, they dress up for the occasion and are cool dancers! It will be a great ocassion as always.

I wanted to go to the 2010 World Cup until I found out it was in South Africa. I have no desire to ever set foot on the continent. It has been and, it seems, will always be a shambles.
I will opt for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Bulgaria instead.

Im not thrilled about it. I dont really care for African football.... and a good team doesnt become a losing team because they're playing in a different field. The Africa bid to host the event is a Joke... they have to build the stadiums and the infrastructure to be able to host them.... I wonder what use they'll give the new stadiums when the 2 weeks of playing is over....

t is a good idea. Finally the world cup is extending to the world!!!
Sadly, there have been rumrs that South Africa may not be able to hold it due to problems with construction of the stadiums. It may be held back until 2014. I would love to see a non-europen or non-south american team win the world cup.

And the U.S. will win the world cup in no more than the next four world cups.

i read that the world cup there might get postponed, because they're development with the transportation between stadiums and other things wasn't at where it should have been now. They said there was a slight chance that it could be held in Germany again, or if not there, then in America. I think i read it on yahoo too.

pretty cool. But, South Africa is a bit expensive... though there are lots of beautiful sceneries. Of course, there's football to be craze about, and who's the winner of WC 2010: IT WILL BE GERMANY!!!!!

I can't wait !!!
Especially to see Brasil win their 6th WC !!

But it will be nice to see the WC move to a different country.
It will help out their economy and maybe bring more of an awerness to Africa. Which is really needed there.
