Well yes Magick is a very real and true force. By that I mean "Magick is bringing about change in accordance with will".
It is not supernatural no more then prayer healing people is, they are the same thing (even if one won't admit it to the other). As a Wiccan Priest I have learned somthing of the more subtle nature of the universe. i am not well versed in Voodoo but what I do know about Voodoo Curses and hexes is they only work when the victim believesthey are cursed that is why trinkets and fetishes are left on peoples door step or mixtures of herbs are thrown on people. But by the same token a strong practitioner of Magick or Witchcraft can form and direct ill will toward someone which causes bad things to happen but as far as Witches I mean Wiccans are concearned if this is done it is generally a karmic thing meaning this person has karma coming back to them for terrible things they have done, witches usally just speed up the process. so your answer to your question is yes and no. It all depends on the situation the story you Mother told you was probably told to her as a scare tactic and she shared it with you. superstition goes hand in hand with the Voodoo culture as well.

OK, I believe, I'm a practicing Wicca Witch for 5 years now. And there are rules in Wicca that would prevent such a thing to happen, but supposedly, "rules are meant to be broken". But Voodoo is different. Everything is gray. You can do good and bad. Some is based on Catholicism as a Voodoo Priest or Priestess can call on Saints or demons. They also have their own gods and goddess and spirits that they invoke. As for what happened to your mom, part of a voodoo priestess' magick is suggestion. Many bad luck and death spells are subliminal. They nail a dead animal upside down to your door is supposed to be a spell to curse the person or family. Then it gets into their mind and they have bad luck because they are expecting it happen. But this seems very strong to have happened to her daughter instead of her.

Yes Witches exist, both good and bad, there is such a thing as Voodoo (Godsmack does it best), and curses and spells really do work.
I am a Witch, of the good variety (usually), I have respect for Voodoo and the practioners. I have performed many spells and unfortunately out of anger I have unleashed a curse or two (not recommended).
As to what happened to your mother, I can't comment, I wasn't there.
There are lots of people who have the power to curse with a mere thought, these people may not even consider themselves as Witches, etc.
The golden rule in Magickal people and non Magickal people is to treat others as you wish to be treated. We are all connected and what we do against another will come back on us.

Well I don't know if you can prove it exists but I believe it does. My mother's friend had this lady that hated her because she was inlove with her husband. Everyone in the town told her to watch out for the lady because she does voodoo, curses, whatever you want to call it. Every morning my mom's friend would wake up with perfectly stacked rows of SLUGS on her belly. She would also have nightmares that a huge animal like eagle would try to get her at night. The slug thing grossed the hell out of me. My nephew in El Salvador also was a victim of the same type of thing only he was uncle's son who had a woman that was inlove with him but he was married with my nephew's mother. She did something to them and they wound up separating. The witchcraft lady put a snail in my nephew's stomach. They do this by killing an animal burrying it and like saying spells or something. I'm sure there is someone out there who would find a scientific reason for this but come on is there a scientific reason for slugs on your stomach stacked in perfect rows. I don't think so.

p.s. No I'm not making this up.

Well,I`m sure there is magic as I`ve met a repented witch "doctor" who now turn out to be a priest. In fact there are many kinds of magic with different name, depends on the place where it is practised.Like in Indonesia, there is SANTET which is about the same kind with VODOO.I`ve also heard people said that witches have to practise ascetism in order to attain special ability.

Hi:
I read on a book from Mr.Chagot or Charcot on Suggestion that mothers can be affected on the product by some good or bad suggestions, if they are scared of an animal or they are impressed by something unusual the baby has marks when is born. This is deemed as true by them, who knows.
Good luck.
Gerry.

Yes, its real, but its not like most people think. You don`t just decide to do a spell and then it works. It takes a lot of energy and focus to make any magic actually work and for some things you need to practice a lot. And no, not all witchcraft is evil, its how you use it that decides if you`re good or evil.

The problem with the question is how three different concepts have been lumbered together.

"Voodoo" is a faith. "Witch" a label that applies to different cultures and spiritual movements. And the best "spells" I've seen occured in Church when people prayed for God to heal someone.

Yes. It is just to mark the child. Not a curse really. Just to mark them. I will put more in later.
