America is for everyone... it's the land of the free...

anyone saying America isn't for a particular group... is being un-American themselves... it was designed to be a melting pot and there is nothing more un-American than denying someone their beliefs...

There is a group filled with ignorance that believe that America is only for those that blindly support it, but those people clearly don't know that America was founded on the fires of decent and the hotter these fires glow, the stronger America grows...

you can clearly see who is un-American by looking at the hatred of their answers...

I find these types of annotations humorous at best. When hearing a statement like that you should, and you have, wondered why this person would have such a preconceived notion? Where is she from? What personal political views does she have? If she is from South Africa and has never left, how did she come to this conclusion?

People who claim someone else to be a “sub par citizen” usually has either disgust for the stereotypes of a certain group, or have not actually met someone of that group and allow their bias for that group cloud their judgment.

I personally have a very good, and very conservative friend. We joke back and forth about issues of the day and the ignorant things that persons on both sides say and do. As much as our personal views differ, and our lifestyles diverge, he would never refer to me, a liberal, as un-American or non-American.

When leaders use that type of rhetoric it usually disseminates into a slice of the public. It is also used to gather hate and fear for one group. This 100% of the time backfires and those people who use it end up out of favor and out of power, i.e., Confederate states of America (property), Nazi Party (Non-German) and Senator McCarthy (H.U.A.C.) to name some very well known examples.

Liberals as a whole can seem to the uninterested and strong armed and wussies and self righteous jerks, and sometimes we are. But we are also in the business of helping the whole society and through that the individual. As a rule, we look towards the brave new world and the “what could be”. Sometimes, we look beyond the problem of the day to the long term solution. We tend to believe in multinationalism and the benefit of world bodies such as the United Nations.

To nationalist and unilateralist persons, such as the current leadership, and not all, of the U.S. Republican Party, this seems weak and ill-advised. The current Neo-Conservatives who are the leading force of the nationalist = patriotic movement paint we liberals in a very dank light.

But it seems as of now the so-called non-American liberals will soon be running at least one branch of government soon and perhaps two within two years, and hopefully the horrific current state of politics will move back to the era of moderate civility we tended to enjoy between 1936-1994, when we had real public debates and did not de-evolve into playground antics against each other.

I hope that helped.

Liberals are considered by conservatives to be anti-american. This is completely backwards. Let's look at American history: The founders of our country left other countries to flee religious persecution (among other reasons). The persecution was coming from the government of that country.. they wanted to force certain religious views and duties on their people. America was founded on not trusting or questioning a ruler/dictator/or government just because they are in power. We were founded on FREEDOM, people. The freedom to think that George Bush is a j*ck*ss if you so choose. It's un-American for anyone to suggest that I should support a president or a decision he makes just because he has the power to make it.

For all the conservatives out there who disagree, think about this... Do you always think your boss at work makes the right decisions for the company you work for? Is he/she always fair to the employees? Do you completely trust (and not talk sh*t about or discuss with others) ALL of their decisions? Bet you don't always think your boss is right.

Not only is it un-American to expect me to automatically support the President.. it's un-human.. nobody trusts or supports everyone just because of their job title.

You should not trust what your teacher says, just because he/she is your teacher... you, my friend, would be considered a Liberal here, only because you thought to ask this question.

Conservatives want everything to stay the same. Which is silly, because NOTHING ever stays the same.. if you expect a governing body not to progress with the world, then what it is governing will fall behind the times. Change is constant.. it will change whether you push it in the right direction or not!

No, it's not true. There's a great description of this by Al Franken, who says conservatives love America the way a small child loves there mommy, while liberals love America like an adult loves another adult. For conservatives, mommy can do no wrong, whereas liberals want America to improve her shortcomings. Whenever liberals point out the things America can and should do better, conservatives whine that we shouldn't be mean to their mommy. Just ignore them. The rest of us do.

There is a polarization in the country these days that would suggest that. Conservatives think liberals are communis,t devil worshipping, sissies and liberals think conservatives are stupid, brainwashed throwbacks. I'm exaggerating a bit, but not much.

More liberals are better educated with a much higher percent of college graduates falling into the liberal category. You can draw your own conclusions from that statistic.

Politics tends to fall into a pendulum swing here, it will swing back to liberal one day.

Actually, unfortunately, Liberals are Americans. Most of them just hate America. And they can express how much they hate America -- because this is America. And despite all the answers you get, that really is the truth.

Liberals are all about Freedom... The United States was founded by what were concidered Liberals in 1776. They wanted Freedom of speech, press, assembly, Freedom of Religion, Freedom to live their lives without interference from the King. At the time it was about Social issues. High Taxes by the King, Property Confiscated by the King, No say so in the way things were run. Liberals are about Social Conscience. Look at what Jesus says about the least of us... Liberals fear conservatives who are attempting to take away Liberal rights. Choice to run your life the way you want and not the way someone else wants you to... Our country is about choice... You make yours and then answer for it and let the other citizens make theirs. One minute conservatives don't want the governmet telling them they can't own guns and the other they want to tell women how to run theirs. You answer to the higher power you believe in and let others answer to theirs... Jesus never told anybody to force decisions on anybody. He left it up to the individuals whether they were going to believe or not. Liberals are all about choice, all about freedom of speech, all about concern for those who are less fortunate.

America consists of people from all political persuasions. You cannot have a true democracy by declining to recognize this fact.

No, that's ridiculous. Conservatives need to realize that not all liberals are socialists, only the extremists are... the same way the extremist conservatives are fascists.
