i find that love and hate are often decided as the other... or that they are mix... are they two things that mix in one end and are barely seperated at the other or are polar opposites always like this... and if they are not opposites, what are there opposites....

i think they are a circle with a thin line, and that their opposites are nothingness... their opposites is no feeling at all...

the opposite of love or hate is indifference. when you no longer truly care you are indifferent and there is absolutely no love or hate.

I have been endeared to the circle concept for a number of years. I think my reasoning goes something like this. When people go from love to hate, it happens instantaneously. There is no transition through the other emotions. No "I really like her, now I just like her, then gee she is nice I could like her etc. It changes in an instant, I love her, I hate her. Just that quick from I'd cut off my arm for her to I wouldn't urinate on her if she was on fire.

I think if is a pole with love on one end and hate on the other we would have to pass through the various emotions as we transitioned. But we don't. Acceleration is linear, can you imagine pulling away from a stop sign and accelerating to 60 MPH without ever going 30 MPH, not even for an instant. The same with stopping, it goes 60, 59, 58 dot dot dot all the way to 0 or a standing stop.

It's just the way I conceptualize it in my own head, it may give you some ammunition for future discussions.

i think of that each and every person of our lives are tapestries, and opposition is the extensive-unfold weave. life - dying, gentle - darkish, good - undesirable, Freedom - Oppression, Love - Hatred, Peace - war, chum - Foe, Kindness - Cruelty without opposition, no replace or growth is conceivable.

I think they're VERY closely related. Love and Hate are the two strongest emotions that one can feel. There's no way they couldn't be related.

A coin where it's never easy to tell where "heads" ends and "tails" begins...
