Ooooh, bad question to ask me! I have some definite ideas on this subject. Here goes.
Communications: This should include composition, business writing, and correspondence, as well as research practices and reading different materials, such as periodicals and non fiction.
Personal Finance: Too many people seem to think that this is picked up by osmosis in college. It should be required in high school.
Technology: This should include computers and different program systems.
First Aid and CPR: Enough said.
Literature: American, English, and World Literature.
History: World and American
Geography: Should include terrain, natural resources, political systems, etc. Also, map reading and use of compass.
Global Issues/Political Science.
Mathematics/Geometry
Science: Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, etc.
Foreign Language: Spanish, Arabic, Sign language, and others.
I think that these are all things that are crucial to the needs of young students. It seems that the curriculum today is a mile wide and an inch deep, but we need more concrete things in it. I hope this helps.
