what is some of the best external hardrives with a price value between 100-300 dollars?

don't get a complete solution, too expensive IMO. look on newegg.com for an external 3.5" USB 2.0 enclosure, either for IDE or SATA drives. then depending on your budget choose an appropriate HD.
it's really easy to assemble, 2 screws and 1 connector - done!

P.S.
the best price value have the 300GB internal drives, they cost around $100.

Western digital has preformed well for me so far.
I agree with the other posters, newegg.com has the best prices, customer service, and ease of shopping that I have found. Check out any of the hardware prices and you will be hooked.
