Men's sizes are done in waist and inseam measurements whereas womens are done usually by a number. Some brands use waist size for women's jeans but they usually go something like this (depending on brand):

-24
-25
-26
-27
-28
-29
-30
-31

and on and on. So look for your waist size and inseam length, women's "short" is usually 29-30 inches, "regular" is 31-32 inches, and "tall" 33-34 inches.
