Can you tell me what requirements I need to buy laptop. I will be using it for surfing the net, checking e-mails, playing yahoo games, downloading music and movies and watching DVDs. I would also like Windows XP on it which is a big program. Plz and Ty.

you need an HP, compaq, or toshiba...anything else is crap...it needs at least 80G of hard drive memory...and 1054 Ram...it needs wireless 802.11 built into it...and a good processor, like intel centrino duo or amd athlon 64...thats basically it...make sure its sturdy and most laptops already come with windows xp on it...

I really would recommend an HP (Hewlett Parkard) I will tell you that I have an HP desktop for almost 5 years now, it is still working in very GOOD conditions. I highly recommend HP to anyone, now I recently purchased a laptap (also HP) and I am thrilled with it, yes , it has windows XP , I can e-mail, chat, I have messenger, it has a good memory capacity etc. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AN HP. A niece of mine recently baught a Dell, and has had so many problems in so little time, she called me and told me that for a while now she can not get online with me , her computer broke down. Like I said, I have a desktop hp and still working fabulously.

well what matters is your hardware configuration and as you have decided to use it for multimedia and storing movies and songs you require a big space which means more GB of harddisk....so i believe please go for atleast 160gb of harddisk and around 2048mb of RAM which ensures that for coming 3 years your laptop would not be affected with the change in technology.
