Avoid trying to fix a car that has been flooded. Every electrical connector will corrode and it will cost you way over whatever you think you are saving in time, money, and sanity.
Throw it away and get another one

This is very easy -- DON'T DO IT. You will be able to dry-out the car, change the lubricants and make it run with luck. Problems will soon arise with wiring connectors that corrode, hydraulics will fail due to contamination, electronic components (the ones you don't replace at once) will go 'ghost', brake and steering could fail, etc, etc. If that isn't bad enough if the vehicle was in contaminated water, (i.e; street flooding w/possible sewage mix), bacteria can develop in every screw hole, seam, trim cavities, etc. Insurance companies don't always total flood vehicles with 'destroy only titles' so many are purchased and rebuilt. Due to the complex systems designs on today's cars repairing a 'total' flood unit can lead down a path of pure misery.
P,S. -- and just wait until you try to sell it........

sell it. Even if you worked very hard and making sure everything was all dried out, eventually there would be some bushing somewhere that would give out and possibly cause you to have an accident.
Unscrupulous folks sell flood damaged cars cheap without telling the buyer what has happened as they know it is not long for the road.

Well, your best bet would be to get rid of it! But, it is something that you must keep....it will cost and take time. You will have to strip the entire interior out, check every electrical connection, and of course if the engine was under water...you had might as well plan on replacing it! Not saying that it can't be done, but it is a timely and costly project! Good Luck

I will make this simple my friend..............GET RID OF IT. It is not worth the time or the money to repair. You will only have one problem after another, and if water got into the dashboard. Hang it up, Just have your insurance company total it out.

Have your insurance company write it off. It cannot be repaired or sold legally.

You didn't say what was wrong with it but the first thing you should do is change all the fluids, engine oil and filter, transmission fluid and filter, rearend fluid, brake fluid, and probably drain the gas tank.
