Is dead mans chest better than the curse of the black pearl?

Oh well, going by the other answers I seem to be in the minority. I loved the first film so much that I was really excited about seeing Dead Mans Chest but ended up being really disappointed. I didn't think there was as much quirkiness in it as the first film had. When The Black Pearl came out I thought it was so fab I went and saw it 4 times and although Dead Mans Chest wasn't awful I wouldn't rush back to the cinema to see it again.

I walked out when Dead Man's Chest was over without an opinion on the matter; I couldn't decide!

But now, I hold to the opinion that Dead Man's Chest was DEFINITELY better. The storyline in my opinion was even more interesting than the first! True, I still love the Curse of the Black Pearl, but I love Dead Man's Chest more!

In short: Dead Man's Chest was WAAAAAAY better!

1st. Perhaps Elizabeth feels the impending doom.. and goes outside of the church to think- then it starts raining. The guests are still inside the church, although the church is never shown. When WIll is arrested, he is taken from under a hanging dome sort of thing by the garden (where Elizabeth had been sitting in the rain). I really think this was like a courtyard outside the building they were getting married in. 2nd. The Kraken is not that smart- thus it follows Davey Jones commands. It was commanded to take down the ship and Jack- but would not know the difference. After Jack would have escaped and everyone aboard the ship had been eaten or drowned, Davey Jones would have realized Jack was still alive. He would have sent the Kracken after him. Either way, unless Jack got to land he would die. Elizabeth just made his death come faster- and Davey Jones had no reason to send the Kracken after her or Will. Thus, they would have been saved if Jack was killed. 3. Davy Jones thought that the heart was safe in the chest on his boat. This is why he didn't follow Norrington. He trusted his men to have gotten it- knowing that the men were afraid of him and knew Davey Jones could do horrible things to them if they didn't. No one said that Davy Jones had to always make smart decisions.

I really liked both, but this one was the better than the two in my opinion. Cooler special effects and action scenes. And Dead Man's Chest also had a ton of great one-liners.

YESSSS!
Its so awesome!
Its much funnier, but then again most of the jokes are in reference to the first one.
But, Dead Man's Chest is great! I've already seen it 3 times and I plan on seeing it some more!

no. black pearl was much better. dead man's chest is far too long and repetative. Its such a shame as there are some really great bits in it. the editor should have been sacked.

I thought they were equally as good. Was surprised as wasn't expecting Dead Man's Chest to be as good. Thought the characters were really good, especially Davey Jones!

One of my friends says it is but she spends the entire movie staring at Orlando Bloom so cannot be trusted as it might only be better because she was watching it at the moment and Orlando Bloom was on the screen.

No way. dead man's chest is long and boring, and the story isn't that gripping neither.
