I have a few....one true classic.

"Gone with the Wind" is what a movie should be. The way people find strength to make it through any situation. The cinematography is awesome....ahead of it's time. It had a cast that poured everything they had into their characters. It's almost as popular today as it was when it was released.

"Tombstone" with Kurt Russell. I like the way the story is told. The actors all meshed together. You really were in the West when you watched it. In that same time frame, I'd have to add "Gladiator". That whole movie is excellent from start to finish. You wanted Maximus to make it....you were at his side through the whole movie.

Either Forrest Gump because although there are some sad parts in that movie, Forrest's general outlook on life is so positive and I wish more people could be like him. Its a really sweet and funny movie.
Or Pirates of The Caribbean films. Both are great and funny.

The Wizard of Oz. Written in 1899, filmed in 1939 and it's timeless. A beautiful story, academy award winning music, the first movie in color (tied w/ Gone w/ the Wind), good for all generations. And, virtually everyone has seen it. I don't think any other movie has been watched (and sung) so often and by so many people

Waking the Dead and The Princess Bride. Waking the Dead is one of my all time favorite books, and the film version is beautiful and more sad than I ever imagined. The Princess Bride, because it is funny, romantic, sad, adventurous .... just overall one of my favorites.
