It does depend on the size and depth of the cut--really deep cuts that won't stop bleeding need medical attention and should get you a ride to the ER, but....

--wash out the wound with cold water,
--apply Neosporin to the cut unless you are allergic...that particular antibiotic will help prevent infection *and* minimize scarring for most folks,
--apply a nice BIG bandaid over the wound, as large as what you can fit over the thing without the *pad* of the bandage hanging off in the air...you want the pad to seal nicely on the skin (and stay sterile) of course, but you also want as much pad on, over and around the wound as what will fit.

Hope this helps. :)

Depends on how big the cut is...small cuts heal quickly with Neosporin or another topical ointment....larger ones might be healed by keeping the cut cleaned with rubbing alcohol or a concentrated salt-water solution (don't leave the salt water on, rub a little in and rinse throughly- yes, this might sting a bit but it works).

Many people use Neosporin. However, there are many problems with using this due to the fact that most people are allergic to it therefore, delaying the healing process. My advice would be to clean it well initially with Hydrogen Peroxide and leave it open to air. If it is very deep, you may consider the fact that you may need stitches.

Keep it clean and let the air get to it. Also cocoa butter helps.
