It's entirely built in a desert wash that floods out completely every 100-150 yrs or so. Say buh-bye.

Scottsdale rivals Vegas as far as restaurants go. Up and down Scottsdale road has some great choices. Most out of towners like to go to old town Scottsdale to get a taste of the old west (not at all what the area is like today however) and there is a restaurant there that is called The Pink Pony. I think it is a steakhouse. I think that a great place to eat in north scottsdale is Eddie V's Edgewater Grille. Great food. I think some of the best sushi in town is a place called Sushi on Shea (this is true Japanese food made by the Japanese owners) this is located in the Scottsdale and Shea area. If you want to go to the "meetmarket" places go to anything located in the Kierland area (scottsdale road and greenway area). Also, there are a couple of places to be seen-a sushi place off of scottsdale road just north of thunderbird I think called Sapporo and there is a dance/dinner place called Barcelona that is in the same area. Also there is a place near Scottsdale/Shea called the Devil's Martini that is very popular (another meet market type place) There is literally no end to the types and styles of restaurants here and your concierge will be able to give you some other choices as well. You could literally spend an entire trip just eating out. Have fun!

the mall is nice and bigger than most of the other ones close by...
but the best thing is the night life-the clubs are awesome. my favs are myst and sugar daddies.
i've lived in tempe for about 5 years and now live in chandler and anytime i want to go out-scottsdale is where i go.
as far as living there-it's ok but it's pricey and there are alot of older people-so traffic sucks
