You DO bathe a Guinea Pig. In fact, they make special shampoo for Guinea Pigs. You can use regular shampoo though, as long as you make sure you get ALL the soap out so it doesn't start itching. Just put about a half inch warm water in the sink, put Mr. Piggy in and wet and sap up, then rinse with a reasonably small strea of warm water fromm the faucet. Give Mr. Piggy a carrot slice or other treat afterwards and wrap him in a towel for about five or ten mins. I do it once a week, thats all he needs, and it feels pretty good later on. I would say do it when you vlean the cage though, so he doesn't just get all dirty again. Have fun, I do, and my pig Cody love baths.

Yes you can give your guinea pigs baths... I would Recomend ferret shampoo, or some gentle baby shampoo. Don't get it in their eyes, or ears. Make sure the water level is low, and make sure they are nice and dry before you put them back in their cage to avoid them getting sick, or being too cold. Lukewarm water should be used... and if it's a long haired guinea pig make sure you brush the coat while drying so it doesn't become tangled.

I had 4 guinea pigs at once at a time and baths really did help. Though I must admit, the guinea pigs weren't too happy about being put in water. I originally used my sink, but they could climb out of that too easily so I resorted to my bath tub.

Shorthairs don't need to be combed, longhairs do. Neither needs a bath. If absolutely necessary to bathe, use a mild baby shampoo, and rinse and dry thoroughly. Protect it from getting a chill. You can use a hair dryer on a low setting to dry them (be careful not to burn your buddy).

Definately, and it's recommended. I give mine baths whenever they stink. I just wash them in the sink in lukewarm water and use baby shampoo. Then I blow dry them and give em a treat!
