You are correct. It is the circled D
Some manufacturers and models have a button on the tip of the shift lever and an OD light in the dash. But, since you stated, quite nicely, your shift quadrant designations, you have provided the necessary info for an informed answer. Therefore we can eliminate the button and light possibility because you have a quadrant position which mechanically and electrically enables the overdrive range.
By the way, the button style is actually an inhibit switch. You are preventing the overdrive when it is off.

Its different on a lot of car,s,,some have the d,,with a circle around it,,other,a have a switch,,that allows you do activate it manually,,and some have the 2 d,s..the one closer to the neutral is the over drive also you will be able to tell,that the car is in over drive,,by the way it shifts,,like i said all car,a are different,,some have a light that will tell you that is in overdrive,,and some don't,,depending on your vehicle,,this should help you.

You are right. It is the (D). The other D is a lower drive gear used for going up a steep hill or maybe pulling a load.

O/D is a different button...your instrument panel will light up with "OD" if you have that feature on

overdrive is usually a button found on your shifter...also possibly the (D)
or its d4. (aka d4,d3,2,1)
