Anyone a horticulturalist? Why are the berries falling off of my elderberry plants before they get ripe?

Hmmm. That's a new one for me. No, I'm not a horticulturist but I have a lot of elderberry trees in my backyard. Are the berries green? There might be the possibility that some birds are eating them. Go to the Cornell Cooperative Extension website (http://www.cce.cornell.edu/). You might find your answer there. I know it's easy to contact them and they are always very helpful.
