If I send American money, can they use it (the internet says they can) or can they exchange it for naira at the bank or something.

Is it better to send it through Western Union?

No people. I knew that would be what everyone is thinking. It is not an email scam. I studied those. I have known this boy for some years. He asked that I sent my son's old clothes. I just wanted to send him a little money. Not like $10,000 or anything. Just a gift.

I think you should ask this person if he has any friends or family; if they live in your counrty. that way, if this friend or family is coming down to nigeria, you can ask the person to help deliver the item as well as the cash.

that how i get stuff home to my people.

Your dollars will buy him more in Nigeria than sending him the same sum in naira. Our currency is stronger and often preferred in other countries with weak economies.

I would suggest contacting a Nigerian bank if you're uncertain about the best transfer method. Western Union may have restrictions but you can just ask them directly for an accurate answer.

You could exchange the currency before you send it. Check with your bank to see if they provide this service, or know where you can get it done.
