The usage of words change all the time. Bastard is one, funky another. What other words can you think of that now have a different meaning to the original?

Well, around here, I can't call anyone a "goof" anymore. I always thought it meant goofy, being silly, like the Disney character...apparently it now means "diddler". How was I to know?

Tons of words have changed - gay, for one. You wouldn't want to go around saying how gay you feel these days (unless you are homosexual), but people used to say it to mean they were happy.

that word did use to mean a person with no father but now its offensive. it shouldn't be used at all in my opinion
