the other schedules are earlier than Feb. 16th .so you have to check it again before that year...

Carnival is one of the biggest events in Brazil, if not the biggest. Originating in Roman bacchanalia or in the ancient Egyptian festival of Isis, carnival, when introduced in Brazil by the Portuguese, acquired African rhythms and Indian costumes. Carnival in Brazil is a genuine national celebration in which every inhabitant, no matter from what social class or ethnic background, participates.

When is Carnival? One of the most frequent questions we hear is “what is the date of Carnival this year?”. Well, believe it or not, it is not an easy question to answer. You have to be part astrologer, part mathematician, and part priest!

Here is how you calculate the Carnival date: 50-47 days before the first Sunday after the first full moon after Vernal Equinox, or in layman’s terms, Ash Wednesday is calculated as 46 days before Easter Sunday, and Carnival falls on the 4 days before Ash Wednesday. Complicated, no?

To make things easier, please find below Brazil Carnival Calendar up to 2010:
2007 – February 16th till 21st
2008 – February 1st till 6th
2009 – February 20th till 25th
2010 – February 12th till 17th.

as on other schedules it goes like this.on 2007..

2005: 05-08 of February
2006: 25-28 of February
2007: 17-20 of February

Check your calendar for Ash Wednesday. Carnival usually starts 2 weeks before that. Carnival happens at this time in Mexico too. It also happens in New Orleans too, but they call it Mardi Gras.

The biggest day of Carnival is the day before Ash Wednesday. They call this Fat Tuesday in New Orleans. The idea behind Carnival and Mardi Gras is that you have to be good during Lint, so you party it up really hard right before Lint begins. These kinds of parties are popular in many areas that have a large Catholic population.

That wont be a subject matter in any respect, Brazil is a very misciginated u . s . and also you'll see quite some black people there (there are even some white people in Brazil that evaluate themselves black). attempt bypass to north of brazil, salvador, its extra thrilling there than rio de janeiro, women are also a lot less complicated there and extra pleasant. Latinos are many times welcome in Brazil, so that you will be superb.
