I think he is one of the most talented actors of all time. Others include Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Nicolas Cage, John Travolta, Brad Pitt and Sean Connery

He's likable and he's done some good work, but he's not even close to the best!

and many others are all way better than Hanks.

Tom Hanks is great. Johnny Depp also has my respect. Both of them like to take the challenge of not playing themselves or repeat characters ... they are always reinventing, and you never see the same role twice (other than POTC). Most actors (think Clint Eastwood, Matthew McCounaghy) play the same character, have the same expressions, facial movements, lines .... you can't see any change. These two become the character.

Yes. In fact, he is the youngest actor to get the AFI Lifetime Achievement award in 2002. I love virtually all of his movies, so picking the best is tough. I think I'll go w/ "Big." But, I also think he was amazing in Splash, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, and Cast Away. I've been a fan of his since Bosum Buddies.

Probably not. I'd cast a vote for the classic Alec Guiness.
On the other hand, the best LOOKING actor of all time is probably Johnny Depp.

He's a good actor born at the right time when most other actors suck! I loved Gump and his character in Philadelphia.
