The sq. root of 459 = 21.42 using a calculator look for the square root key looks like a check mark. Hit the key and then enter the number that you need the sq. root of.

Without a calculator, remember that to find the square root of a number you must think of two numbers that when you multiply together (square) x^2 you get the number. The most used squares that all students should know are:

1^2 = 1 2^2 = 4 3^2 = 9 4^4 = 16 5^5 = 25....12^2 = 144
1*1 = 1 2*2 = 4............................5*5 = 25 12*12 = 144
These are known as perfect squares because there are no decimals.
Your number 459 = 21.42 * 21.42 . Has decimals. It is not consider a perfect square.

To find the square root without a calculator, unlike the rest of the people...is to do the following:

Let "[459" be the square root of 459, where "[" represents the square root symbol.

[459 = [9*51
<=> [459 = [9 * [51
<=> [459 = 3 * [51
<=> [459 = 3[51

=> [459 = 3[51

See, you don't need a calculator to figure this stuff out. Good luck with the rest of your mathematics!
