I am thinking about gettin 2 . I just want to make sure that there is enough room for them when they are their full sizes.

For two of them at the min you will need a 50 gallon tank. Experts recommend 75, but I have had oscars before and they will do just fine in a 50 gallon aquarium. But make sure the other fish you will get are a good size because Oscars will eat other small fish.

First off, how many oscars do you have, and what other fish are in your aquarium?
The general rule is 1 gallon of water per 1 inch of fish...this is their FULL ADULT SIZE, not their juvenile size. Oscars can and do get up to 24 inches and beyond.
If it was me I would go with nothing less than a 125 gallon, knowing you may have to change that out for an even bigger one in time.
David...I respectfully disagree with what you've said.
I've been an aquatics specialist for the past 15 years and know of what I speak.
Oscars "outgrow" their tanks and do not conform to that rule...if in doubt contact a Pet-Co if there is one nearby and ask for their opinion.

A 5 gallon tank isn't appropriate even for a baby oscar as you need airation, heat, filteration and ROOM...please read up on fish BEFORE you get any...

a full grown adult oscar needs 75 gallons.

if you keep in a small tank poor water quality is going to occur and oscars aren't the hardiest of cichlids, very prone to illness like hole-in-head dieases.

i dont believe that i am hearing a 20 gallon tank.

oscars get pretty big if given enough room, and can also be quite aggressive. i wouldnt use less than a 15 gallon tank--20 would be better

Depends on the size. They will grow as big as the tank that they are in. But at least 5 gallons.
