Is it? I like to write fantasy (swords, bows & arrows, dragons) and so on, but it's not like I don't have a life... I play basketball and have cool friends... still, does writing make me... a... nerd?

nah one of my friends writes fantasy storys (Quite good t it too if i say so myself) and hes one of the coolest and un-nerd like person i know lol. At the end of the day it's what makes you happy not what other people think i mean look at tolken (the guy that wrote lord of the rings) and ursula (the woman that wrote the earthsea saga) look how much money they made from doing something they enjoyed and was good at, In my humble opinion fantasy make the best books and films it does not in anyway shape or form make you a nerd to write fantasy everyone has a genre they prefer and are good at and they stick to it. It's just like writing a thriller would you think you was a nerd then?? thought not just stick at it if you enjoy it dont take no notice of what people may say or think they will laugh on the other side of their face if you get published lmao

Hey. No way does writing make you nerdy. So all of those men writers are nerdy? Okay, I know what you mean. But no man, writing for fun in my opinion is pretty cool. Another way to express yourself. Just like drawing. Go for it and keep writing even though it sucks and makes no sense (not refering to you). Also, since you play basketball etc. and write, that's nice. I'm glad. And sure you have a life... some people go out to get a story...

Good Luck! And hey send me a story if you can :)

Actually, in a way, yes. But that's not bad, really. Setting yourself apart from others by having a passion (yours is writing, as is mine) is actually attractive to people. It makes you different, and if that's how you describe a nerd, then, yeah, sure, whatever.

However, at my school, the 'nerds' tend to be some of the most genuinely popular people (state champion marching band). So, for the record, we're pretty happy.

No. Im not a nerd. I play hoops.football and hang out wit the cool ppl and wear good clothes, etc but I still read. Its cool if you like to read or write or play chess, etc. Nerds aren't those ppl they are the ones who can't do anything else with their lives but study.

Did writing make Stephan King, JFK, Hemingway nerds? If you have talent, use it. Besides, nerds are very intelligent people!

No, it is creative, I think that writing is a good way to express yourself, think about it, your writings that your friends think are uncool, can blow up, and then they'll want some writing tips, hehe, I write to, I write teenage novels, about teens at school, and dealing with pressures and stuff.
